Getting Started
Reference works such as encyclopedias and guide books are a good place to get basic information on your research topic. Print reference books are available in the Reference area adjacent to the Information Commons on the first floor. For example:
- Environmental Disasters: A chronicle of Individual, Industrial, and Governmental Carelessness by Lee Davis (Facts on File, 1998). This volume contains information on the worst environmental disasters of the 20th century.
The library also has an extensive set of electronic reference works available online. For example:
- Gale Virtual Reference Library This database contains hundreds of high-quality reference books. Try searching for topics related to your research project.
